Headquarters
Alexandra Pohl is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Slate Blue Capital, a multi-strategy asset management and capital markets firm. Slate Blue Capital is being built in four sectors: Slate Blue Foundry (private equity), Harbor (credit and insurance), Mosaic (multi-asset and solutions) and Summit (capital markets, through an intended broker-dealer). Alexandra leads it on the conviction that alternatives-grade governance, centralized capital markets relationships and rigorous KPI reporting belong in every portfolio.
“Governance is not overhead. It is what investors are buying.”
The foundation
A real estate family
Raised in a real estate family, Alexandra built early mastery in capital strategy and asset performance. She earned dual undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Exercise Science, competing as a Hall of Fame dual-sport NAIA D1 athlete, then deepened her competitive discipline through martial arts and an MBA in Global Business Management.
Operations
Toyota and Danfoss
In the private sector, she spent seven-plus years at Toyota and Danfoss applying lean and TPS methodologies to complex multi-site operations: at Toyota she compressed project timelines and eliminated workflow waste; at Danfoss she standardized KPIs and tightened variance-to-budget across international programs.
Public service
Federal leadership
She then spent eight-plus years in senior U.S. federal leadership on regulatory and infrastructure matters, and has personally directed $300 million or more in development and capital programs. At Slate Blue Capital, those disciplines are the foundation of the firm's governance, reporting and controls.
The firm
Chair of the investment committee
At Slate Blue Capital, Alexandra Pohl is Chief Executive Officer and William Pohl III is Chief Operating Officer; Alexandra chairs its investment committee and William is Co-Chair.
Governance
Registered before it operates
Alexandra is building Slate Blue Capital with the governance a registered asset manager and broker-dealer require: written policies, independent compliance, monthly reporting on performance, risk and liquidity, and licensing and registration in place before any business line operates.
Purpose
Profit with purpose
Alexandra's profit-with-purpose ethos holds that well-run businesses create value for the people they serve, the teams that run them and the capital partners who back them, simultaneously. Outside the boardroom, she channels that ethos through her lifelong passion for animal rescue, supporting shelters and rescue organizations because she believes leadership is measured not only by returns but by the lives improved along the way.
Her six dogs

Hallmarks of leadership
i
Platform builder
Alexandra built Slate Blue Capital on a single operating spine, standardized diligence, one reporting standard and shared services, so what is learned in one platform sharpens the next.
ii
Governance first
Alexandra builds Slate Blue Capital so that registration, controls and reporting are in place before capital is raised, not after.
iii
Investor alignment
She reports to investors the way she reports an operating asset: same metrics, same cadence, same candor. Expectations are written down before capital is committed, and no one is surprised at the board table.
iv
Global mindset, local execution
Alexandra brings a global lens on markets and capital, then executes locally through hands-on partnership with every team.
“Four sectors, one standard of reporting.”
Alexandra Pohl, CEO, Slate Blue Capital
“We run on the same numbers, reviewed the same week, every month. No one is surprised at the board table.”

Largest team he has run
William Pohl III is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Slate Blue Capital, a multi-strategy asset management and capital markets firm. Slate Blue Capital is being built in four sectors: private equity, credit and insurance, multi-asset solutions and capital markets. William, who began managing investment funds in 2005 and ran 20 residential real estate funds, owns the operating side: systems, teams, service providers and the platform each sector runs on.
“Never quitting gives you an advantage over 99% of the people. My father taught me that, and I have built every company on it.”
The foundation
A builder's son
William grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, watching his father build one business after another: a CPA firm, real estate companies, a roofing company and a collector car dealership. His father gave him one rule he still runs on: never quitting gives you an advantage over 99% of the people. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from American Public University and joined his father's firm, Trustpoint Financial Corp., in 2001 as a project manager on job sites across the eastern United States.
Real estate
Trustpoint, Tetra Homes and Majorwave
By 2005 he was Managing Partner, running the firm's residential real estate funds, and through the 2008 collapse he kept building, bought while others sold, gave investors the hard truth before they had to ask and kept his team together. He went on to found Tetra Homes Inc. in single-family (2011 to 2015) and Majorwave Corp. in multifamily (2015 to 2021), acquiring whole neighborhoods and multifamily communities and repositioning them into places people wanted to live.
Two decades
Through the cycle
Over two decades, his 20 residential real estate funds and his companies delivered more than 10,000 homes and apartments across eight states and Washington, D.C., and he never ran a team larger than 25 people. At Slate Blue Capital, he brings the fund operating experience of two decades.

Co-Chair of the investment committee

Operations
The operating side
William runs Slate Blue Capital's operations with the same ownership he brought to his own funds: clear processes, dependable service providers, clean books and investors who hear the facts early. He keeps teams lean and senior and builds each sector in stages as it earns its place.
Off the clock
Don't quit
William's advice to every team he leads is his father's: don't quit. Outside the office, he rescues dogs, Bleu, Cookie, Willow and Ghost, and supports animal rescue, grows exotic fruit trees that have no business surviving an Ohio winter, and builds AI systems and websites late at night.

Hallmarks of leadership
i
Total ownership
William takes ownership of whatever the work needs, from the first site walk to the last line of the budget.
ii
Fund operator
William has run investment funds since 2005. He builds Slate Blue Capital's operations around what investors actually need: accuracy, transparency and follow-through.
iii
People first
He backs people before plans. A strong plan in the wrong hands stalls; the right team finds a way. He looks for hustle, grit and honesty, and he gives the same back.
iv
Built through the cycle
He built through the 2008 housing collapse, bought while others sold, protected investors and kept his team together: the steadiness he brings when a market turns.
v
Lean teams, outsized output
More than 10,000 homes and apartments delivered without ever running a team larger than 25 people.
“Investors remember who called them first with the hard news.”
William Pohl III, COO, Slate Blue Capital
“Clean books, clear reporting and no surprises. That is the job.”

The team
The team.
Suebina Wong is Chief of Staff at Slate Blue Capital, where she works directly with Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, across the firm’s four platforms: Slate Blue Foundry, Harbor, Mosaic, and Summit. Her remit covers firm-wide priorities, the rhythm of the Investment Committee and governance councils, internal communications, and the follow-through that keeps buy-and-build, private credit, wealth and private-markets access, and capital raising moving at the same pace.
Her career rests on a single discipline: converting complex, multi-source signal into decisive action, and building the operating systems that let high-performing teams move quickly and precisely. She developed it over twelve years in the United States Intelligence Community. Six of those were active-duty Army service, in which she worked as a Senior SIGINT Geospatial Analyst and mission team lead behind Operation New Dawn, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan. She later trained more than one thousand intelligence professionals across the U.S. Government.
She then applied that rigor in commercial markets, ranking among the top real estate agents nationwide for five consecutive years while leading acquisitions, market entry, and asset repositioning in the country’s most competitive metropolitan markets. Those years at the closing table gave her a practical feel for how capital, markets, and people come together, a perspective she brings to every platform at Slate Blue Capital.
McCory King is Head of Investor Relations at Slate Blue Capital, a financial firm built as one firm across four platforms: Slate Blue Foundry in buy-and-build, Harbor in private credit, Mosaic in wealth and private-markets access, and Summit in capital raising. He reports to William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, and works alongside Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
His career began in financial services. As a treasury services advisor at Bank of America, he managed purchasing, travel, and corporate card accounts for Fortune 500 companies and state governments, and built client relationships that lasted. He went on to serve as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, leading complex initiatives in which discretion, risk discipline, and clear executive communication mattered. In all, he brings more than 20 years across financial services, operations, risk management, and technology.
At Slate Blue Capital he is a senior representative to limited partners, prospective investors, family offices, and institutional allocators, and he coordinates investor communications across all four platforms. Because those platforms invest, lend, advise, and raise capital in different ways, he makes sure investors see one firm: one standard of transparency, one cadence of communication, and a plain explanation of how each platform creates value.
His education pairs a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Old Dominion University with graduate study in intelligence management, completed with a Master of Science at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Joe Tobin is Head of Research at Slate Blue Capital, a financial firm built as one firm across four platforms: Slate Blue Foundry in buy-and-build, Harbor in private credit, Mosaic in wealth and private-markets access, and Summit in capital raising. He reports to William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, and works with Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
The four platforms invest, lend, advise, and raise capital in different ways, but each one needs reliable evidence. Joe provides it: sector and market research for Slate Blue Foundry’s acquisitions, credit and collateral data for Harbor, benchmarks for Mosaic’s clients, and the market analysis behind Summit’s mandates, all built to one standard and sourced so it can be verified.
Joe’s analytical method was shaped in a decade of biotech work as a subject matter expert on gene and cell therapy protein purification. Serving as lead manufacturer and department supervisor, he steered his team through technical challenges with data-driven decisions and aligned scientific work with corporate goals; more than 20 drug molecules were developed and distributed to critically ill patients under his department’s oversight. He is known for direct communication, translating specialized information into insights clients can act on. He has also spent 12 years producing and directing live sports entertainment events nationally and internationally.
Joe received his biochemistry degree, with honors, from Towson University in 2015. His free time goes to bodybuilding, paddleboarding, and epoxy resin art.
Julia Tripline is Office Manager at Slate Blue Capital, a financial firm built as one firm across four platforms: Slate Blue Foundry in buy-and-build, Harbor in private credit, Mosaic in wealth and private-markets access, and Summit in capital raising. She reports to William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, and supports Alexandra Pohl, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Clients, borrowers, and investors meet Slate Blue Capital for different reasons, and Julia makes sure each of them is received the same way. She runs the front desk and the main line, keeps the office ready, and, as assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating Officer, manages the schedules, travel, expense reports, and meeting logistics that span all four platforms. She also oversees office facilities, vendors, and equipment and brings new team members on board.
She brings more than eight years of Air Force experience in executive aviation, global operations, program management, and organizational leadership. Julia supported senior national and military leadership during domestic and international operations in positions of significant trust, where confidentiality and sound judgment were part of the job. Her assignments required her to anticipate evolving needs and coordinate across organizations, the same skills a firm with four platforms relies on every day.
As an instructor and program leader, she was responsible for qualifying hundreds of personnel, and she partnered with senior Air Force leaders to improve how the organization developed its people, including the establishment of a new aviation career field. She translated complex requirements into practical solutions, an approach she now applies to keeping Slate Blue Capital’s office running smoothly.
Julia has a Bachelor of Science in Cultural Anthropology and an Associate of Science in Space Technology, and a Master of Science in Intelligence Management is underway. Originally from Oregon, she enjoys travel, running, baking, the outdoors, and her two dogs.
